Hope Foundation Work in India

Thank you to Reginald Ames Ltd for the generous donation of £500 towards HOPE’s Emergency Covid Appeal, received
on 5th of May. This donation helped The HOPE Foundation (HOPE) convert its Hospital in Kolkata to treat Covid
patients.

HOPE’s longstanding presence on the ground in Kolkata meant that we were able to act fast and direct efforts where
the needs have been greatest and this has saved lives.

Our HOPE Hospital has been converted to exclusively treat COVID patients, and now has 53 beds which are full all the
time. Many of these patients are underprivileged people who would otherwise have no access to healthcare. The
oxygen, equipment, and medicines needed have been bought with donations from the Emergency Appeal.

Through donations received from the Emergency Appeal, HOPE has opened a Satellite Health Facility to treat more
COVID patients, those with mild to moderate symptoms, or recovering from critical care. This will free up beds in the
HOPE Hospital for those who are seriously ill and require specialised treatment. The building was dilapidated and our
team in Kolkata converted it into a high-quality medical facility in just one week - a remarkable turnaround, and
testament to what can be achieved in an emergency.

To respond to the changing needs in Kolkata, HOPE’s Emergency Relief Team is now distributing food packs to families
affected by the COVID crisis in the street and slum communities.

Thank you for your kindness and ongoing support of HOPE – we are extremely grateful.
